1. Our Commitment
Hazel Dino is committed to making our website and the digital products we build for clients accessible to people of all abilities. We treat accessibility as a baseline expectation — not a checkbox we revisit later.
2. Conformance Standard
We aim for conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments.
3. Measures We Take
To support accessibility on this site we:
- Use semantic HTML5 elements (header, nav, main, article, footer) for clear page structure
- Provide alternative text for meaningful images and icons
- Maintain colour contrast that meets or exceeds AA ratios for body text
- Ensure all interactive elements are keyboard-accessible with visible focus indicators
- Use ARIA labels and landmarks where standard HTML cannot convey enough context
- Build responsive layouts that work at common zoom levels and on mobile devices
- Avoid auto-playing media and excessive motion
- Provide a logical reading order for screen readers
- Use form labels, error messages, and field instructions that work without colour cues alone
4. Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts, some content may not yet meet our accessibility target. Areas we are actively working on include:
- Some third-party embeds (calendar widgets, slideshows) over which we have limited control
- Older blog images that may not yet have full alternative text descriptions
- Some video content that is not yet captioned
